How it works
- 1Upload a photoA straight-on photo at eye level, neutral face, good light. Or take a selfie.
- 2We measure in your browser478 landmarks are mapped on your device and small head turns are corrected. The photo is never uploaded.

This facial ratios calculator measures 12 proportions from one straight-on photo, including FWHR (facial width-to-height ratio), midface ratio, eye spacing, face length to width and jaw to cheekbone width. Each ratio is shown against a reference range, with the lines drawn on your photo, in your browser.
The 12 facial ratios measured
| Ratio | What it compares |
|---|---|
| FWHR | Cheekbone width ÷ brow-to-upper-lip height |
| Midface ratio | Pupil distance ÷ pupils-to-upper-lip height |
| Eye spacing (ESR) | Pupil distance ÷ face width |
| Face length ÷ width | Forehead-to-chin height ÷ cheekbone width |
| Jaw ÷ cheekbones | Jaw width ÷ cheekbone width |
| Mouth ÷ nose | Mouth width ÷ nose width |
| Lower ÷ upper lip | Lip heights |
| Eye gap ÷ eye width | Inner-corner distance ÷ eye width |
| Eye height ÷ width | How open the eye is |
| Brow-to-eye distance | Brow height above the eye ÷ eye width |
| Middle ÷ lower third | Vertical balance |
| Fifths deviation | Average gap from equal fifths |
Each one is shown with a green reference range and a marker for your value, and the lines are drawn on your photo when you tap a ratio.
What is FWHR?
Facial width-to-height ratio (FWHR) is the width of the face at the cheekbones divided by the height of the upper face, usually measured from the brows to the upper lip. Men tend to have a higher FWHR than women, and in looksmaxxing communities a higher FWHR is treated as a masculine trait. Research has linked FWHR to how dominant or aggressive a face is perceived, though findings on actual behaviour are mixed.
Our numbers are measured on the face model's landmarks, so they run lower than values in studies that measure from photographs by hand. The reference range on this page is set for the same landmarks.
Reading your ratios
A value inside the green range is typical for attractive faces on these landmarks; a value outside it is a description, not a flaw. Ranges for FWHR, jaw width, brow distance and eye shape differ for men and women, so choose the right one on the result. To see how the ratios add up to an overall rating, take the attractiveness test, which weights them into eight areas.
How to take a photo for accurate facial ratios
- Camera at eye level and at least arm's length away — close selfies inflate the width of the nose and the centre of the face.
- Face the lens straight on with your head level; the test corrects small turns and tilts but not large ones.
- Neutral face with lips closed — a smile widens the mouth and lifts the cheeks.
- Hair off the forehead and jaw so the face edges are visible.
- Add one or two more photos taken the same way; the ratios are averaged.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good FWHR?
Men tend to have a higher FWHR than women. On this calculator, which measures on face-model landmarks, the reference range is 1.65–1.85 for men and 1.48–1.62 for women; studies that measure photos by hand report higher numbers.
Which facial ratios matter most for attractiveness?
Symmetry, eye spacing, the balance of the middle and lower thirds and jaw width against cheekbones tend to matter most. The attractiveness test weights the ratios into eight areas so you can see which ones move your score.
Why do my ratios differ from other sites?
Sites place landmarks differently and measure face height to different points (hairline, top of the forehead, brows). Compare ratios within one tool using the same photo setup.
Do you upload or store my photo?
No. Scoring and measurement run entirely in your browser: the face model downloads to your device and your photo never leaves it. Only the AI Analysis tools (such as age or color analysis) send a photo to our server, and they say so before you upload.
