How it works
- 1Upload a photoA straight-on photo at eye level, neutral face, good light. Or take a selfie.
- 2We measure in your browser478 landmarks are mapped on your device and small head turns are corrected. The photo is never uploaded.

This jawline rating traces your jaw from 478 landmarks and scores three things: the jaw angle seen from the front, how wide the jaw is compared with your cheekbones, and how symmetrical the two sides are. The result is a jawline score out of 100.
What makes a good jawline?
A jawline reads as "defined" when there is a clear edge from the ear to the chin, a visible angle at the corner of the jaw, and a jaw that is not much narrower than the cheekbones. For men, a wider jaw and a sharper angle read as masculine; for women, a slightly narrower jaw with a softer angle and a defined chin reads as feminine. In both, symmetry between the left and right side matters.
How the jawline rating works
The rating traces your jaw outline from 478 landmarks after levelling your head, then scores three things equally:
- Jaw width vs cheekbone width — compared with the reference range for men or women.
- Jaw angle — the angle at each jaw corner, estimated from the front photo.
- Jaw symmetry — how closely the left and right jaw points mirror each other.
You get a jawline score out of 100, the angle for each side, and the lower-face and chin measurements, with the jaw outline drawn on your photo.
How to get a better jawline
- Lose facial fat. Body fat is the biggest factor in how defined a jaw looks; there is no way to spot-reduce it, but overall fat loss shows in the face.
- Posture. Pushing the head forward softens the line under the jaw. Standing tall with the chin slightly down and forward sharpens it, especially in photos.
- Beard shaping can add width and a squarer angle; a clean neckline makes the jaw edge clearer.
- Jawline exercises and chewing gum are popular, but evidence that they change jaw shape is weak; chewing hard gum a lot can strain the jaw joint.
- Medical options — fillers, Botox for an overgrown jaw muscle, implants and surgery — should be planned with a qualified doctor.

Jawline for men vs women
The same measurements are judged against different reference ranges. For men, a jaw width close to the cheekbone width and a sharper jaw angle read as masculine and score higher. For women, a jaw a little narrower than the cheekbones with a softer angle and a defined chin reads as feminine and scores higher. Choose the right one on your result — the jawline score changes with it. Symmetry between the two sides counts the same for everyone.
Frequently asked questions
How is my jawline rated?
The jawline rating combines three measurements from a front photo: jaw width compared with cheekbone width, an estimate of the jaw angle, and how symmetrical the left and right jaw are. Reference ranges differ for men and women.
Can a front photo measure my gonial angle?
Only approximately. The true gonial angle is measured from the side. From the front we estimate the angle at the jaw corner, which tends to read wider than a side-profile measurement, so compare results from similar photos rather than with numbers from X-rays.
How do I take a photo for an accurate jawline rating?
Keep your head level with the camera at eye level, look straight ahead with a relaxed mouth, and move hair and beard off the jaw edge where possible. Tilting your chin up or down changes the jaw angle a lot.
Do you upload or store my photo?
No. Scoring and measurement run entirely in your browser: the face model downloads to your device and your photo never leaves it. Only the AI Analysis tools (such as age or color analysis) send a photo to our server, and they say so before you upload.
